BESPOKE WEDDINGS & UNION CEREMONIES

A good ceremony can help us honour, celebrate or process key life experiences - they help us mark those big life moments that may otherwise pass us by, and can bring a bit of meaningful magic and nourishment into our lives.

As a celebrant, I can support you to co-create a symbolic ceremony that is unique and authentic to you, the life event, and union you are seeking to honour.

Types of ceremonies I can co-create and deliver with you*:

  • Wedding Ceremonies

  • Civil Partnership Ceremonies

  • Other types of Union Ceremonies (including friendship ceremonies, welcome to the family ceremonies, and vow renewals)

*I am predominantly holding these types of ceremonies at the moment, although I am open to offering other types of ceremony which mark other life events and transitions, should you want to get in touch.

WORKING WITH A CELEBRANT

Why work with a celebrant?

Anyone can create and hold a ceremony, however working with a celebrant offers a chance to be supported in creating a symbolic experience which can truly reflect, represent and honour your individual beliefs, and way of being in the world.

Working with a celebrant, allows you to be held and supported in that process - where ideas and expertise can be shared, and a memorable, personalised ceremony can be co-created for you to enjoy.

The legalities

The joy of a celebrant led wedding ceremony, is they can be held almost anywhere you have permission to be - for example, on the beach, at home, in your favourite woodland, or a private venue.

However, it is important to note when booking a celebrant wedding or civil partnership ceremony - that these are a symbolic celebratory event, and are separate to 'legally binding' marriage. As a wedding celebrant, I do not have the powers formally invested in me to legally register the union. So, for any couples seeking legal acknowledgement of marriage or civil partnership, this celebrant-led ceremony is held and booked separately, and in addition, to legal affairs (which is usually done in a registry office at another time).

What to expect?

  • First thing that happens after you get in touch, is we book in a Free Initial Consultation Call- with no strings (or rings) attached!

  • If you decide you want to go ahead - I request booking confirmation and ask you to pay a deposit, which allows me to book out the date.

    3-6 months lead up

  • We'll start with some reflection questions that I will send you. This helps us get the ball rolling on what you want your ceremony to be, feel, do, and say.

  • Schedule our first 1 hour chat - This is more of an opportunity for us to get to know each other, for me to hear your story, and to start mapping out some ideas. We'll both go away and let some ideas brew

  • I'll draw up any first ideas of a ceremony story arc and elements we may want to include. The First 'script' or outline of ceremonial ideas will then be sent over, and reviewed by you.

  • Schedule second prep chat - to further shape ideas and script.

  • Second script revisions to be sent and reviewed by you, and following this any ammendements will be made by me in prep for our third and final chat.

    6 weeks before ceremony

  • Schedule third and final prep chat - this is where we finalise the script and any ceremonial practicalities.

  • Opportunity for third and final script revision.

    Week Of Ceremony

  • Email check in - to confirm practicalities and answer any questions.

  • Option for rehearsal run through (usually the day before)

  • Ceremony Day!

    Post Ceremony

  • Receive copy of final script for you to keep

  • Option for a Closing debrief and Ceremony Integration session (within 6 weeks post the ceremony day)
